In May 2016, GSB invited three distinguished guests from College of Information and Computer Sciences (CICS)<\/em>\u00a0,\u00a0University of Massachusetts Amherst (UMass Amherst)<\/em>.<\/p>\n Three professors – James Allan, W. Bruce Croft and Shlomo Zilberstein – participated in several events marking the opening of GSB, and actively interacted with members of GSB community.<\/p>\n The activities during their visit has been reported in an article, titled “CICS, Hokkaido University Launch Research Partnership in Big Data and Cybersecurity,” <\/a>which was posted on the CICS’s website in late June.<\/p>\n In that article, Prof. Croft, distinguished professor and dean of CICS, explains the partnership between CICS and GSB as follows:<\/p>\n “We have a valued relationship with HU and look forward to expanding our partnerships with its world-class faculty.”<\/p>\n “UMass Amherst will bring its unique expertise and leadership in cybersecurity and data science to engage with HU on problems of common, global interest.”<\/p>\n Gallery<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
