The 2nd GI-CoRE Summer School for Radiation Biology 2019 & Hokkaido Summer Institute 2019 – Radiation Biology School

We are pleased to announce that the 2nd GI-CoRE Summer School for Radiation Biology to be held from 19th – 22nd August 2019.  The school will be jointly conducted with Hokkaido Summer Institute (HSI) 2019 for Radiation Biology School. If you are interested in radiation biology from an oncological perspective, please join us!

<Course Outline>

Lectures on radiation biology in English by international lecturers from Hokkaido University, Stanford University as the partner of GI-CoRE* and related institutions. The basic and state-of-art radiation biology including particle beam therapy, molecular biology, radiation oncology and quantum biology can be learned in the lectures and experimental practices in the wet laboratory. 

HSI 2019 for Radiation Biology School is open for all graduate students, whereas GI-CoRE Summer School for Radiation Biology 2019 is open for early career researchers. Please see below for more information.

NOTE: Application procedure is different between GI-CoRE Summer School and HSI Radiation Biology School. Please read the following information carefully.


The 2st GI-CoRE Summer School for Radiation Biology 2019

 

Target:     Early career researchers in radiation-related biology

Period:     19 – 22 August 2019

Program: GI-CoRE Summer School 2019-Radiation Biology_ver2

Tuition fee: Free, but you are expected to play a role as a mentor to help student participants in

HSI-Radiation Biology School.

Credit:     No credit offered

Certificate:    Certificate of Completion is awarded to participants who complete the course successfully.

Language: English

Capacity:   30 seats including participants from HSI (This is a preliminary figure and is subject to

change.)

Application: February 1 (0:00 a.m. Japan Standard Time) to April 1, 2019 (5:00 p.m. Japan Standard Time).

Please download the form, fill in and send us together with 2) and 3).

2) CV including research interests (in PDF format, but not in particular style)

3) Abstract of the presentation about your research (approximately 5 minutes in 1-page paper, but not in particular style)

NOTE:      All participants of this summer school are expected to make a 5-minute oral presentations during the  course.

Screening Results: Screening results will be notified to applicants via e-mail by the end of May.

Hokkaido Summer Institute (HSI) 2019 – Radiation Biology School

Target:     Graduate students

Period:     19 – 22 August 2019

Tuition fee: JPY29,600

This fee will be waived for students who enroll in this program as exchange students from Hokkaido University’s partner institutions. Please see HSI website for further details.
