{"id":336,"date":"2016-06-28T16:06:14","date_gmt":"2016-06-28T07:06:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/demo3.kxk.co.jp\/gss\/?p=336"},"modified":"2016-06-28T16:06:14","modified_gmt":"2016-06-28T07:06:14","slug":"the-first-international-symposium-on-advanced-soft-matter-celebrating-the-kick-off-of-the-global-station-for-soft-matter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/c-mng.cwh.hokudai.ac.jp\/gi-core.oia\/gss\/news\/the-first-international-symposium-on-advanced-soft-matter-celebrating-the-kick-off-of-the-global-station-for-soft-matter.html","title":{"rendered":"\u3010Report\u3011The First International Symposium on Advanced Soft Matter: Celebrating the Kick-off of the Global Station for Soft Matter"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cThe First International Symposium on Advanced Soft Matter: Celebrating the Kick-off of the Global Station for Soft Matter\u201d was held on June 13<sup>th<\/sup> \u2013 15<sup>th<\/sup>, 2016 at Hokkaido University. \u00a0The symposium started with opening remarks by President Keizo Yamaguchi of Hokkaido University, followed by a guest speech by Mr. Naoki Himiya, Director of the National University Corporation Support Division at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Japan.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n<br \/>\nThe top researchers on soft matter from all over the world came to give lectures: from the U.S., the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Duke University, North Carolina State University, and Iowa State University; from France, ESPCI, Universit\u00e9 Pierre et Marie Curie, and Universit\u00e9 Paris Diderot; and from Japan, the University of Tokyo and Hokkaido University. After the lectures, there was an active discussion involving members in the audience.
