【Workshop】Mathematical methods and practice in cryptography, security and big data

A workshop titled “Mathematical methods and practice in cryptography, security and big data” will be held on December 19-21, 2016 at Hokkaido University to explore mathematical methods for information security.

The purpose of this workshop is to promote interdisciplinary collaboration between mathematicians and those researchers who work in the areas of data science and cybersecurity.

This workshop is a joint project of Hokkaido University’s three institutes – Department of Mathematics; Research Center of Mathematics for Social Creativity, RIES; Global Station for Big Data and Cybersecurity, GI-CoRE – and Information Technology Research Institute (ITRI) of National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST).

The project is supported by The Cooperation with Mathematics Program (coop-math) of The Institute of Statistical Mathematics under Grant No. 2016W13.
