In May 2016, GSB invited three distinguished guests from College of Information and Computer Sciences (CICS) , University of Massachusetts Amherst (UMass Amherst).
Three professors – James Allan, W. Bruce Croft and Shlomo Zilberstein – participated in several events marking the opening of GSB, and actively interacted with members of GSB community.
The activities during their visit has been reported in an article, titled “CICS, Hokkaido University Launch Research Partnership in Big Data and Cybersecurity,” which was posted on the CICS’s website in late June.
In that article, Prof. Croft, distinguished professor and dean of CICS, explains the partnership between CICS and GSB as follows:
“We have a valued relationship with HU and look forward to expanding our partnerships with its world-class faculty.”
“UMass Amherst will bring its unique expertise and leadership in cybersecurity and data science to engage with HU on problems of common, global interest.”
