3rd Annual GSI International Symposium

We are pleased to announce the session themes for the 3rd Annual Global Station for Indigenous Studies and Cultural Diversity (GSI) International Symposium, set to occur on Friday, December 1st, and Sunday, December 3rd.

Day 1: “Migration and Memory of Place” – December 1st
Join us on the first day as we embark on a discussion of the themes of our symposium’s first session, “Migration and Memory of Place.” Esteemed speakers, scholars, and cultural custodians will navigate the historical trajectories of diaspora and migration and explore Indigenous perspectives on the connections between communities and their traditional lands. This session will be available online only.

Day 2: “Indigenous People and Museums” – December 3rd
The second day focuses on the evolving dynamics between Indigenous Peoples and museums. This session will feature discussions of representation, cultural preservation, and the dynamic role museums play in fostering understanding and collaboration with Indigenous communities. This session will be available for in-person and online attendance.

Participation is open to all. Registration is required for both days.
